When I was in my final semester at NDSU, source material and direct information became an obsession. While studying there, I used to go listen to speakers the University would host in the Auditorium at Barry Hall, NDSU’s downtown Fargo business school.
I was fortunate to have professors incentivize me with extra credit. I also took an interest in hearing accomplished entrepreneurs and leaders. My fortune and fascination converged in perfect harmony. In my final semester at NDSU, I took a foundation-level game theory course.
It was the combined experience of hearing these lectures and absorbing such truth from an honest professor that I built my understanding of the importance of source material.
The speakers showed that any path can lead you to victory. Each person has a unique destiny to conquer; it’s subjectivity that we all desire, even though objectivity is our guiding light. My game theory class introduced me to concepts that encouraged me to strongly seek objective truth, as knowledge is the force which propels us forward.
This experience reshaped the way I approach consuming information, I have a strong bias toward consuming objective truth, then drawing conclusions from there. That leaves me with these recommendations, for how you can become educated for the Medicare decisions that you face.

Why is Source Material important?
Source material encourages that you are have independent thoughts on the subject matter, and not be confused by someone else’s interpretation of the material. Source material promotes critical thinking due to the complexity and nuance that source material typically contains. There can be many roadblocks to truly understanding information; thus, building a unique learning plan is often required. Something that has benefited many clients I work with, is how closely we incorporate the source material to our learning.
Client Support:
“I was especially impressed with the willingness to discuss the pros and cons of plans that Simplicity Group did not represent. The side by side comparisons were also extremely helpful. His follow ups were timely, concise, and informative.” -Marty P. (Client in FL)
